To foster and improve the social, cultural, economic and civic lives of Asian Americans and their families to benefit Quincy and its neighboring communities. Through collaborations and partnerships, we provide culturally competent services including adult education programs, youth development, and cultural events as well as information and referrals to public and other community organizations.
QARI provides ESOL Classes for Adult Learners throughout the year. Sessions are designed to focus on a curriculum that enhances the skills of the student for use in work and daily living. Our classes range from Intensive Beginner for those who have never studied English, to Advanced for students who have daily interaction with English, but are not yet fluent.
We run sessions for the Fall and Spring for 14 weeks, and the Summer Session runs for 8 weeks. Fall and Spring sessions are comprehensive, with reading/writing and speaking/listening all making up an important part of language learning. Summer sessions, excluding the Intensive Beginner Class, are conversation only, focusing on level appropriate topics that can be tailored to the interests of the class.
To register for our classes, please visit the QARI Office at 1509 Hancock Street, Suite 209, or call the office (617-472-2200) to make an appointment for a placement test. All students must take a placement test to assure the proper placement in class. Registration is on a rolling basis, and is available for current classes between 9:30 AM and 5:00 PM daily.
