Youth Programs
In partnership with Quincy Public Schools and Mass Mentoring Partnership, QARI will be piloting a one-on-one, adult-to-youth mentoring program for new immigrant students at Atlantic Middle School during the 2011-2012 school year. The goals of the program are to support the academic progress of the mentees, prepare mentees for their transition into high school, and help them become acclimated to their new life in America. QARI will also be continuing the high school mentoring program with a focus on cultural adjustments, college preparation and career explorations.

QARI YouthLinks Summer Job Program
For the second consecutive summer, we received funds from the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA). These funds give 45 recent immigrant students the opportunity to learn job skills and job training through English classes and earn valuable work experience at various community organizations.

Discovering Unique Careers
The Discovering Unique Careers (DUC) youth project is a group of Asian-American high school students from Quincy, MA dedicated to promoting awareness of career options to other teens. We achieve our goal by working as a team to explore and learn about careers, and to meet diverse Asian-American professionals. We aim to inspire, to challenge stereotypes of what Asian-Americans can pursue, and to provide direction for other teens.

2011 Scholarship Program
QARI is pleased to announce we will award 2-3 one-year scholarships to graduating seniors. Scholarship awards are anticipated to be between $650 and $1,000 depending on the number of awards in 2011.
