Welcome to Quincy Asian Resources, Inc.’s YouthLinks Summer Job Program. For the second consecutive summer, we received funds from the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA). These funds give 45 recent immigrant students the opportunity to learn job skills and job training through English classes and earn valuable work experience at various community organizations.
Students in the program get a chance to enhance their English proficiency through class and in the workplace to gain valuable experience in the community. This 6 week, 25 hour-a-week program is available to young immigrants ranging from 16-22 years old.
Students split their time into three sections:
- Three (3) mornings learning vocational English taught by Quincy High School teachers
- Two (2) mornings in job skills and leadership training class taught by the staff of Episcopal Quincy Chinese Center (EQCC)
- The rest of their afternoons will be spent working at a community partner listed below.
